CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSAs help the community by providing fresh local produce to consumers. CSAs also help farmers by guarenteeing them a market for their products and eliminating the guess work out of marketing. Shareholders (folks like you) subscribe for up to 3 seven week plans. All subscriptions are due before the first week of each new plan ( that would be June 1 for the first plan, July 20 for the second plan or September 7 for the third pland). This helps us know how much to plant and it allows consumers to rest easy knowing that they will receive fresh products each week throughout the growing season.
Our CSA runs from June through the end of October. On our calendar we give you an idea of items that we grow and will have available for each month. Our subscription form gives you options for long or short season subscriptions and also the option to list certain food allegeries. We will try to cater to these as much as possbile. We also offer bakery items, jellies, beef, and honey for purchase if you wish, but you may also choose just produce and fruit.
CSA Plan for 2009
We are excited about our 2009 CSA—We are already making plans for next year’s planting and harvesting. We are offering 7 week plans this year as well as full season plans. Each 7 week plan is the same price, the only difference is the starting and ending dates. We will be offering a $25 discount for shareholders who sign up and pay for the full season (all three seven week plans).
Example: (Small Share) $150 x 3 = $450 - $25 = $425
We hope you will join us for 2009.
Deliveries are planned for Howard, Montgomery, Washington DC (Department of Transportation) and Carroll counties, Maryland. We will also deliver to Gettysburg and Carlisle areas. We will coordinate delivery locations with our shareholders.
